Note that flashes and floaters can also commonly occur from simple causes, without retinal tears or detachment.<\/li><li><strong>Partial loss of vision.<\/strong> Retinal detachments can also proceed unnoticed until a large section of the retina is detached, at which time you may notice that part of your sight is missing (the missing sight could be vision loss from above, below or off to one side). The detachment may be small and not dangerous, or it could involve the entire retina, resulting in blindness if not treated quickly and properly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fffecc6 e-con-full e-flex cmsmasters-block-default e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fffecc6\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cf05f2b cmsmasters-block-default cmsmasters-sticky-default elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"cf05f2b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Related Conditions<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0324d46 cmsmasters-block-default cmsmasters-sticky-default elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0324d46\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThere are other conditions which may have similar symptoms or be due to similar causes:\n<ul>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/naturaleyecare.com\/health-conditions\/diabetes-mellitus\/\">Diabetes<\/a>. &#8220;Tractional&#8221; retinal detachment may occur in advanced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/naturaleyecare.com\/eye-conditions\/diabetic-retinopathy\/\">diabetic retinopathy<\/a>, a complication of diabetes. In this condition scar tissue may form on the surface of the retina, pulling it away.<\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/naturaleyecare.com\/eye-conditions\/glaucoma\/\">Glaucoma<\/a>. About 10% of patients having surgery for retinal detachment are found to have glaucoma.<sup>1<\/sup>\u00a0On the other hand, it is well known that after surgery for retinal detachment the ocular tension does not remain at its normal level and there is a tendency towards glaucoma development.<sup>2<\/sup><\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/naturaleyecare.com\/eye-conditions\/eye-floaters\/\">Floaters<\/a><\/li>\n \t<li>Retinal breaks and tears<\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/naturaleyecare.com\/eye-conditions\/central-serous-choroidopathy\/\">Central serous choroidopathy<\/a>.
